ebm-papst is again one of Germany's best employers

That was the verdict of a survey carried out by the magazine FOCUS in cooperation with the leading social networking site for business contacts, XING, and kununu.com, the employer rating portal for employees, trainees and job applicants.

In a nationwide overall ranking of the best 800 companies, ebm-papst took an outstanding 56th place, making it once again one of Germany’s most attractive employers. In its category, namely “machine building and plant engineering”, the world’s market leader for fans and motors was ranked 5th of the 48 companies surveyed.

Rainer Hundsdörfer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ebm-papst Group, says: "The results of this FOCUS survey document that we have a very special working environment. Our employees enjoy working for us. We are delighted to have again been chosen as one of the best employers. But we will not be resting on our laurels, we will continue our efforts to make sure that ebm-papst remains one of the most attractive employers in Germany."

Over 70,000 workers took part in the survey, in which former and current employees and job applicants assessed their companies independently. Among other things, the respondents indicated how satisfied they are with their superiors’ management style, their career prospects, their pay and the work-life balance their employer offers. They were also asked whether they would recommend their company.

"We are very proud to be among the best employers in Germany," says HR manager Ralf Sturm. “Ever since the company was founded over 50 years ago, we have promoted a business culture that puts people at the centre” he confirms. He sees this as one reason why the company was rated so highly.

Last year ebm-papst successfully introduced flexible working hours at its headquarters in Mulfingen, switching from a presence-oriented to a results-oriented working hours system. In its 7th site safeguarding agreement, "A Working Alliance", the board of directors, works council and HR management decided to set a clear signal in favour of the compatibility of work and family life by establishing flexible working hours.
