European Guidelines
2002/95/EG (RoHS) and 2002/96/EG (WEEE): Legal regulations for substances
As global player, we consider it our duty to
take care of our environment and therefore to make sparing use of
our natural resources. This goal applies to our manufacturing processes
and, of course, to our products as well. Even during the development
stage of our products, the possibility of potential consequences
for our environment is already taken into consideration.
We try to avoid or reduce any environmental impact
to a minimum - even beyond the existing legal regulations - and
to base the development of our products on the principle of sustainability.
We therefore ensure that our products are free of materials and
substances prohibited by law.
Referring to the European Guidelines 2002/95/EG
(RoHS) and 2002/96/EG (WEEE) all existing products, which do not
meet these requirements or part of it yet, automatically undergo
redesign.
Our suppliers are urged to only supply components
consistent with the guidelines. We confirm that according to the
current state of our knowledge and in accordance with the regulations,
most of our products are going to comply with the above mentioned guidelines
as of January 1, 2006 and all new production as of July 1, 2006 will be RoHS compliant. In compliance with the defined exceptions, all of our air moving devices (i.e. fans, blowers, motors)
are free of the following chemical substances:
- Lead (PB)
- Cadmium (Cd) and Cadmium compounds
- Hexavalent Chrome (Cr(Vl))
- Mercury and Mercurial compounds
- Poly-bromide Biphenyle (PBB)
- Poly-bromide Diphenylether (PBDE)
As there are no tolerance levels defined by law
yet, we shall keep to the following tolerance limits in accordance
with the general discussion in industry:
- 0.1 percent in weight with position
nos. 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
- 0.01 percent in weight with position
no. 2.
