| ESM Q & A (W1G200-E) |
How has this product been designed and manufactured to assist the contractor in the installation, maintenance and service for the product? The fan comes with a built-in plastic fan housing which allows quick mounting to any flat surface via four thru-holes. The 3" installation depth is much shorter than the typical axial fan used in these applications which employ a shaded-pole motor. A jacketed power cable plugs into the motor with a water-proof connector and is available in four different lengths. Should the mounting opening be larger than the 10" OD of the fan housing, we offer a sheet metal adapter ring that can be used to expand the OD to 12". The ring includes four threaded studs which slip through the fan housing mounting holes so only four locking nuts are needed to hold the ring to the fan. Radial slots provided in the ring allow the contractor to decide which bolt circle diameter works best for mounting. If needed, the adapter ring shape can be modified using metal shears to avoid areas of interference. How is this product different from other competitive products? Existing stock of reach-in coolers and refrigerated display cases use a large variety of fan motors, mounting arrangements and separately purchased axial impellers. The selection of high-efficiency fans and motors in the past has been limited, so that energy upgrades in the field demanded a good deal of improvisation. The W1G200-E series covers a wide range of airflows in a small diameter package and with a particularly short mounting depth. The combination of this fan and adapter ring provides something much closer to a universal retrofit possibility than is currently available. What installation and service benefits to the contractor can be derived from this product?
