Energy-saving solutions for heating and ventilation

Motor and fan specialist ebm-papst will present its latest developments in heating and ventilation technology at the ISH trade fair in Frankfurt from the 10.03.-14.03.15 (Hall 11, Stand B90).

Although the GreenTech EC motors can only be marginally improved, as they already work at over 90 percent efficiency, there are other areas that can be optimised to improve the overall efficiency of a fan. Measurements have shown that there is still some room for improvement in the proven RadiPac medium-pressure centrifugal fans in the GreenTech EC technology range. The fan specialists from Mulfingen, Germany have therefore once again taken the flow machines one step further. The main focus of this reengineering centres around the area where air enters the impeller, the position of the external rotor motor in the impeller and the impeller's blade profile. The new generation of the RadiPac will be presented to the public for the first time at the ebm-papst stand (Hall 11, Stand B90) in Frankfurt.

Further product highlights in Frankfurt will also include the new blower range with active PFC (power factor correction). The GreenTech EC centrifugal blowers, used in fan coils and air curtains, are highly efficient, use up to 70 percent less energy and are also extremely quiet. They are now also being used to combat problems associated with operating multiple fans in parallel connection. The integrated active PFC smooths out the disruptive harmonics that arise during operation. This enables the required values to be maintained without additional measures.

In gas-condensing technology, ebm-papst will present energy-efficient system solutions that have already fulfilled the requirements of the new ErP Directive years in advance. The wide-ranging product spectrum covers a heating energy range from 0.5 kW to 1 MW. In the pneumatic combustion systems, the new GAS 137 system solution allows heating power to be increased to 150 kW. Its extremely compact size delivers the maximum possible power for use in wall-mounted boilers. With the iNR 77, ebm-papst has developed the world's smallest blower unit for an electronic gas-air mixture and achieved a modulation of 1:10 across all gas types. This single-source solution represents an important innovation for the efficient gas heating technology of the future.

For biomass heating, ebm-papst will present the expansion to its existing range of EC induced draft fans. The size 250 blowers ensure the extraction of hot combustion gases in areas like wood chip heating systems of up to 250 kW. These systems are used for heating and hot water in public buildings such as schools, or in commercial buildings. The EC blowers use up to 30 percent less energy, even less in the partial load range, reducing the cost to both operators and the environment.
