ebm-papst receives Axia Award for superb sustainability concept

Fan and motor manufacturer ebm-papst is the winner of this year's Axia Award. Auditing and consulting firm Deloitte presented entrepreneurs from the region of Baden-Württemberg with the “Axia Award 2014” on 5 February 2015 in Stuttgart, under the motto “Thinking sustainably, working successfully”.

The award-winning companies were those who had established the long-term sustainability of their shareholder structure, finances and brand image, while keeping an emphasis on their employees.

Economy and ecology go hand in hand for ebm-papst. Since it was founded in 1963, the world's leading technology company has remained true to the principle that: “Every new product must be ecologically and economically superior to its predecessor.” An energy-efficient approach is taken by ebm-papst as early as production and its conservation of resources. The fan specialist also not only meets legal requirements, but is focused on maintaining ethical standards and a relationship with its employees based on respect. Measures that have already been recognised in the past and are now being highlighted again with the Axia Award.

Hans Peter Fuchs, Managing Director of Finance and Controlling at the ebm-papst Group, explains: “We are delighted to receive this award in recognition of our integral approach to sustainability. It is a confirmation of our achievements and our long-standing commitment.”

“The Axia Award participants have shown that an awareness of the responsibility towards employees, customers and the environment is a worthwhile sustainability strategy, one that secures long-term success. The award-winning companies have clearly demonstrated their impressive innovation and the power this gives them to make positive changes,” explains Dr. Hans-Rudolf Röhm, Partner at Deloitte. In addition to the prize-giving ceremony, Prof. Dr. Dirk Hachmeister from the University of Hohenheim presented findings from the related study “Thinking sustainably, working successfully”.
